Clear Channel eliminates Charlotte jobs

Radio station owner Clear Channel Communications Inc. eliminated more than 20 jobs at its five Charlotte stations last week as part of a companywide reaction to slumping advertising sales.

ScentAir inks distribution deal

ScentAir Technologies Inc. has signed a multiyear distribution agreement with DMX Inc. of Austin, Texas.
Under the agreement, ScentAir will provide DMX with its complete line of commercial fragrance systems for private-label distribution.
DMX will use ScentAir’s product line to augment its product offering. In return, ScentAir gains a global distribution channel into previously untapped markets.

Rowan trucking company to lay off 100

Auto Truck Transport of Rowan County will begin laying off some 100 employees in mid-March, according to a filing with the N.C. Department of Commerce.

Nobel Automotive of Paris, which makes hoses and tubing for cars, is laying off two-thirds of its work force.

Beacon site prepped for future development

The 42-acre former Beacon Manufacturing site is getting a thorough cleaning in anticipation of possible development.
