The U.S. government has awarded General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products a $12 million contract to produce the MK47 Striker40 Weapon System.
The lightweight grenade launcher has a fire-control system capable of firing ammunition that can be programmed to detonate, as well as conventional grenades.
Charlotte-based General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products makes weapons systems, biological- and chemical-detection systems and mobile-shelter systems. It is a division of Virginia-based General Dynamics Corp.
