Komatsu America Corp. is consolidating its production from Shawano, Wis. to another plant in Chattanooga in a move that affects 95 workers.
Spokeswoman Mari Aoyagi says some, but not all, of the workers at the Shawano plant will be offered a job elsewhere.
Shawano operations are expected to be gradually curtailed by October. The plant makes Valmet forest machines that aid in the process of logging and clearing trees.
As recently as last summer, city and county leaders looked at ways to help provide assistance for plant improvements and expansion.
