Tractor Supply Co. is coming to Hendersonville, moving to the old Winn-Dixie space on Four Seasons Boulevard across from Blue Ridge Mall.
The store is expected to open April 1 and employ between 12 and 17 full- and part-time employees, said Rob Hoskins, a company spokesman.
Hendersonville is a good fit for Tractor Supply Co., Hoskins said Thursday.
“As a growth-minded company, Tractor Supply Company is always looking for potential new store locations that are a good fit as far as the target market is concerned,” he said. “Concerning the Hendersonville area, this is especially true in that the area is attractive due to the part-time and hobby farmers, gardeners, suburban homeowners and horse owners in the area, the demographic we target in selecting a new store location. The TSC product category expertise includes lawn and garden and animal care products that would service the needs of these customers.”
TSC stores sell lawn and garden supplies including tools, furniture, weed control, pest control, sprayers and spreaders, seed in addition to outdoor power equipment such as mowers, chain saws, log splitters, trimmers and blowers, tillers, pressure washers, and mower parts.
The company also carries everything horse owners and pet owners need for the care and feeding of their animals including items for health, grooming, tack, feed, safety, training, blankets and pet kennels, bedding, bird feeders, and dog treats.
TSC features a line of home improvement products in a variety of departments including heating, hardware, plumbing, electrical, and electric motors. The company has a long tradition of supplying equipment for the farmer such as pumps, sprayers, pest control in addition to tractor tune-up and repair. TSC also carries wormers and vet supplies for livestock.
North Carolina Employment Security Commission officials in the Hendersonville office confirmed Thursday that the agency is currently accepting applications for employees at the new TSC store. There are positions open for an assistant manager and several clerks.
