William “Bill” Wheeler has announced the formation of the firm William Wheeler Architect, specializing in residential design.
“I believe my greatest strength is my ability to listen to my clients and translate their desires into a house,” he said in a statement.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., and a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Architecture, he recently moved from Washington, D.C., where he practiced for 20 years, to be closer to his extended family.
“Asheville is so attractive because it is a small, intimate city that possesses the creative energy found in larger cities,” Wheeler said. “It is also a place that values its architectural history, which appeals to me.”
He and his family are now renovating their 1917 Montford home.
