Loudon company get state job-training grants

Remotec, a Clinton, Tenn.-based maker of hazardous duty robots, has received a state job training grant, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced Thursday.

The $6,950 Incumbent Worker Grant will provide training to eight employees in mill, lathe operation, Adobe Dreamweaver and ESD Program Manager Certification, according to a press release.

The state also has awarded $7,945 in job training funds to M&L Electrical Inc. in Loudon. The grant will be used to provide training for three M&L Electrical employees.

To qualify for the job training grant program, companies must be in operation in Tennessee for at least one year, must have at least five full-time employees, be able to demonstrate financial viability and be current on all state taxes.
