The next wave in Web 2.0, specifically as it relates to recruiting has to do with branding your company on a “one-to-one” basis with your target candidate. This effort involves candidates finding you through the things they do online socially. This may include web surfing, blogs, vlogs, chat and the latest thing, podcasting. All are a part of something we marketers refer to as “social media”.
What is Social Media?
The video below will help to explain social media.
Let’s now focus specifically on the aspect of “Podcasting”.
Using a Podcast (we call them JobPods) today is one of the best ways to reach the tech saavy iPod crowd. Consider the following research:
The US audience for podcasts will more than double in the next two years, growing from 6.5 million (active weekly downloaders) in 2007 to 14 million in 2009.
According to a new report by eMarketer
The total US podcast audience reached 18.5 million in 2007;
The total audience will increase by 251% to 65 million in 2012;
There are currently 6.5 million people that download one or more podcasts per week; and
In five years, there will be 25 million active podcast downloaders.
The important thing is…they want to find out more about your jobs and now you have an inexpensive, yet effective way to do this….using our JobPods of course. For more information on what a JobPod is – be sure to click the link at the top of this website titled “JobPods”.
